Snakes are a common theme throughout history, beginning as early as ancient Egypt. They symbolized numerous things including, fertility, wisdom, and everlasting love. Queen Victoria was given a snake engagement ring from Price Albert with emerald eyes as May was her birth month.
I crafted this snake from metal clay, which makes it pure silver. I added some 23kt gold leaf in random spots to give it some shine, and then darkened the whole thing to provide contrast. Hanging from its fangs is a sweet little rose cut hessonite garnet which can symbolize venom or blood depending on your preference :-)
The chain is sterling silver that has also been oxidized and has a little bit of shine, and closes with a spring ring clasp.
