Rustic Compass Necklace

Feeling a bit lost these days?  Let this sweet little compass charm guide you.  Compasses have always been synonymous with navigation and helping one find their way when lost or searching for their destination.  Maybe wearing this charm will be a reminder that it's okay to be searching for your direction, after all the journey is part of the fun.  

I have recreated this antique stamp into a lovely piece from Precious Metal Clay which is .999 pure silver. I then oxidize it in order to bring out the texture. It is slightly bigger than a dime and has a sterling silver clasp.

Please choose the length of your chain and whether you would like your chain shiny or oxidized (darkened).

Process - The medium I use to create this pendant is known as Metal Clay and it consists of recycled silver from photo negatives mixed in an organic binder. In this case I used a wax stamp to make an impression on the clay, then I fire in a kiln where the binder burns away and the piece that remains is .999 pure silver.  I then oxidize (darken) it in order to bring out the texture, and polish the high points to create a nice contrast.
