I recently acquired a wax seal wheel from the Victorian Era (1837-1901) that contains 6 different stamps.
Wax seals date back to before the Medieval Era and have been used for a variety of reasons. Sometimes used to seal and authenticate documents, sometimes as decoration, and sometimes to relay a clandestine message to a friend or lover.
This particular stamp is a cute little train and states the sweet sentiment, ‘Quick'. I just really like this charm as its meaning is open to interpretation. Give it to your loved one to remind them to always hurry home to you, or to a friend who lives far away, or just because you like trains.
*Please note that this stamp is on the small side*
This unique antique stamp has been brought to life in the form of a wearable pure silver charm. The medium I use is known as Metal Clay and it consists of recycled silver from photo negatives in an organic binder. Once fired in the kiln the binder burns away and the piece that remains is .999 pure silver. I then oxidize (darken) it in order to bring out the texture. This lovely charm is strung on a delicate chain that closes with a spring ring clasp.
Please choose the length of your chain and whether you would like your chain shiny or oxidized (darkened).
The item pictured is not the exact piece you will receive as I make these to order. Since they are special orders made especially for you, they will take roughly a week to ship.
