Dress Clip Conversion Necklace

Dress clips came in fashion after the first World War, around the 1920's and were often worn in pairs, either opposite one another on the neckline or on the straps of a dress. This particular dress clip is crafted from reflective sterling silver and has a raised flower pattern on the outside, typical of the Art Nouveau period.

I have taken the back clip off to convert this lovely piece into a pendant. It hangs from a double sterling silver curb chain attached by small, faceted pyrites to add to the shimmer. The clasp is a sterling spring ring and there is a extra bit of chain that hangs down your back and finishes off with a final, tiny, shiny pyrite gem.

You'll look just as good coming as going.
